The Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club Historical Foundation (LHYCHF) has been re-energized with a new Board, a refreshed mission, and a brand-new website.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is simple yet vital: to raise funds dedicated solely to the preservation of the historic LHYC clubhouse. Over the past year, we’ve been reorganizing, preparing for the right project to launch our renewed efforts.
That project has now arrived.

This past week, the LHYC Board formally requested assistance with the restoration of the clubhouse’s exterior porch doors. After careful review, our Foundation unanimously approved this as our first fundraising project.
These doors are more than just entryways — they are central to the appearance and function of the clubhouse, especially the porch and ballroom. Unfortunately, they are in terrible disrepair, and some are no longer functional at all.
Because the full scope of the damage won’t be known until the doors are removed and stripped, it is impossible to provide a fixed cost upfront. However, restoration is expected to be less costly than replacement and more in keeping with our mission of preserving historic features whenever possible.
For now, LHYCHF has committed to:
This initial commitment amounts to approximately $25,000, which we are fortunate to already have on hand thanks to the generosity of donors like you.
Looking ahead, our goal is to raise an additional $75,000 to complete the full rehabilitation of all the porch doors.
We are asking for your support to help us reach this fundraising goal by October 1, 2025. Doing so will allow work to begin as soon as the 2025 season ends. Please click here to view the complete restoration proposal.

If donations exceed our goal, rest assured that there are several other important preservation projects under discussion with the LHYC Board — and your support will help bring those to life as well.
Together, we can ensure that our beautiful 115-year-old clubhouse continues to welcome generations of members and guests for years to come.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today to support this important work.
